WHAT IT INVOLVES

 

1.     ARTWORK BRIEF

In this initial stage you will discuss the desired body of works outlining details such as size, medium, where the painting will be hung, style, perhaps colour palette and any references that may assist. LJ Artworks will then develop a concept for the body of works.

 

2.     QUOTE & TIMEFRAME  

This next stage you will discuss the cost for the works and how long it would take to complete. Usually if an artist is replicating a piece already sold, then the price will be similar. However, if you are going bigger or after a more complex piece, then a different price should be expected. The complexity of the works and materials used will also affect the estimated timeframe for the piece.

 

3.     ACCEPTING QUOTE & DEPOSIT

Once agreed on the price and time frame, you will give LJ Artworks the go ahead.

To get started, a 30% non-refundable deposit is required to cover the cost of the materials and time involved in the initial stages. Please note that fine art supplies are costly, and changes cannot be made to the size of artwork once this stage commences.  

 

4.     IN THE STUDIO

With a clear idea of what the body of works would look like, LJ Artworks will order materials, collate reference images, and start prepping the initial stages of the works.  If desired, the client will be welcomed to provide feedback once the work is ready for this stage. Usually this is once the artwork is approximately 70% complete.

 

5.     FINAL TOUCHES

LJ Artworks will make the last few additions to the works and allow for final feedback before varnishing or sealing the works and stretching the canvas if not already stretched. The feedback stages are only optional, some clients prefer to be surprised. Once all done, the piece will be made hangable and the final payment for the works would be settled. 

 

6.     FRAMING

Framing the artwork is optional and can be arranged through LJ Artworks. Prices will range depending on the size of the artwork, desired finishes, thickness of the frame, colour and shadow lines.

 

7.     DELIVERY

Delivery of the artwork will vary drastically depending on the size, fragility of the piece and delivery address. Please note delivery cost is not part of the quote of the artwork.
